Cour Experience is a non-profit whose mission is to reduce stress, anxiety, depressive symptoms, and suicide ideation in youth. We have consulted with licensed social workers, school counselors, district superintendents, psychology professors, and medical doctors to create a platform that can be used by youth, educators, and parents or guardians in campus wellness rooms, youth programs, or at home. We teach how to use scientifically proven, non-clinical modalities to self-regulate that can be used anywhere, anytime.
We understand how overwhelmed school staff and faculty and anyone who works or lives with youth are. These are stressful times and Cour Experience is here to help. We have done all of the work so all you have to do is open the platform and click.
The key to understanding how anxiety inhibits cognitive and physical performance lies in understanding how emotions affect the rhythmic activity in the nervous system. All techniques used in training have been scientifically validated and are currently used from corporations to classrooms around the world.
What is Heart-Based Education
Research has identified a measurable physiological state that is the basis for optimal learning and performance. In this state, our emotions are calm. Our brain, nervous system and other bodily systems function with increased synchronization and harmony. In simple terms, we are in sync physically, mentally and emotionally. Ultimately we can help to focus attention for reasoning and creativity- all essential for effective learning, academic achievement and social success!
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) reflects the critical role of positive relationships and emotional connections in the learning process and helps students develop a range of skills they need for school and life. SEL skills include the ability to:
• set and achieve positive goals
• feel and show empathy for others
• establish and maintain positive relationships
• make responsible decisions
• understand and manage emotions
All of these skills are necessary—both for educators and students—to function well in the classroom, in the community, and in college and careers.
