U.S. Surgeon General Issues Advisory on Youth Mental Health Crisis Further Exposed by COVID-19 Pandemic

U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy issued a new Surgeon General’s Advisory to highlight the urgent need to address the nation’s youth mental health crisis.

AAP-AACAP-CHA Declaration of a National Emergency in Child and Adolescent Mental Health

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) are joining together to declare a National State of Emergency in Children’s Mental Health. The challenges facing children and adolescents are so widespread that we call on policymakers at all levels of government and advocates for children and adolescents to join us in this declaration and advocate for the following actions.

A Meta-analysis on the benefits of meditation focused on the reduction of anxiety symptoms, and found robust support for the reduction of anxiety symptoms in individuals who practiced meditation.
